44% of those polled are not sorry about the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, while 41% still are. Every sixth respondent did not answer the question.
Compared to the previous survey in the late 2010, the number of those feeling nostalgic for the USSR shrank from 46 to 41%, and the share of those welcoming the collapse of the Soviet Union grew from 36 to 44%. According to Rating, this decline in nostalgic sentiments over Soviet times in Ukraine is, first and foremost, the result of the shift of generations. Traditionally, most supporters of the USSR are older people.
