"No coup in Kiev," Poland's Foreign Minister writes in his Twitter. "Government buildings got abandoned. Speaker of Rada elected legally. President Viktor Yanukovych has 24 hours to sign the 2004 Constitution into law."
Radoslaw Sikorski was one of the three European Foreign Ministers who signed the compromise agreement to solve the current crisis with the opposition and Yanukovych on February 21.
Today, on February 22, Batkivshchyna's Oleksandr Turchynov was appointed Verkhovna Rada Speaker after Volodymyr Rybak resigned.
Yanukovych, in a video address posted online today, described the latest developments as a coup. He said he was not going to resign or leave Ukraine, nor will he sign the laws passed in the Rada over the past two days since he believes them to be illegal.
