The protest was fueled by the introduction of the Customs Union technical proceedings which entrepreneurs expect to drive them to the verge of survival.
The forum participants stated that the entrepreneurs are ready to arrange massive protests, close for vacations and stop paying taxes unless the document provisions are enhanced.
“Average entrepreneurs believe that this geopolitical object – the Customs Union – currently puts Belarus’ national business under a threat,” Shumchanka said.

According to him, entrepreneurs plan to hold a one-day warning strike against the new technical proceedings and publish the outcome of the signatures collection campaign for Belarus to leave the Customs Union on June 27.
This March, Timur Nazkhanov, Vice President of the Independent Association of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, stated that Kazakh business suffers big losses after the country joined the Customs Union. It has become a trap for Kazakh entrepreneurs. Over the years of its membership in the Customs Union, Kazakhstan’s trade deficit increased.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Premier Mykola Azarov and Viktor Khrystenko, Head of the Eurasian Economic Commission, signed the memorandum to enhance cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and Ukraine on May 31. The Memorandum entitles Ukraine to having its representative on the Eurasian Economic Commission and obtaining an observer status at the Eurasian Economic Community from 2015.
