Okhendovskyi became member of the Central Election Commission in 2007 under the quota of the Party of Regions. Now, 11 CEC members out of 14 present at the session voted in support of his candidacy.
President Viktor Yanukovych congratulated Okhendovskyi on his new position and wished him to “work fruitfully to the benefit of the Ukrainian people at his responsible position.”
Meanwhile, UDAR MPs comment that staff changes take place secretly in the CEC in order to “ensure Yanukovych’s victory in the 2015 presidential election in any possible way.”
