Petro Poroshenko officially announced president

The respective protocol was signed at 5.14 p.m. today. After this Central Election Commission Head Mykhailo Okhendovskyi publicly read the final results of the vote and announced Poroshenko the winner at 5.22 p.m.

“Candidate for presidency, Petro Oleksiyovych Poroshenko, born in 1965, Member of Parliament residing in Kyiv, non-aligned and self-nominated, is the elected President of Ukraine,” Okhendovskyi said.

He also noted that the Central Election Commission has been filed no complaints that could challenge the results of the vote, and that all courts of appeal have notified the Central Election Commission that they are not considering any cases that could affect that available result.

According to the official Central Election Commission data, Petro Poroshenko won the race with 54.7%. Yulia Tymoshenko is the runner-up with 12.81%. Oleh Liashko has 8.32%; Anatoliy Hrytsenko got 5.48%; Serhiy Tihipko ended up with 5.23%. Mykhailo Dobkin’s result was 2.03%, and Vadym Rabynovych has 2.25%. Other candidates in the presidential race got under 2%.
