The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-April 2020 was estimated at US$80 million, which was 97% down year-over-year.
The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review shrank by 55% from US$3.285 billion, to US$1.469 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services more than doubled from US$626 million, to US$1.389 billion, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2019 totaled US$3.633 billion, which was 41.2% down from the deficit reported in 2018, according to the State Statistics Service. At the same time, the National Bank said the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2019 was estimated at US$12.117 billion, which was 7% up year-on-year.
